And so it begins…

If you’ve checked out the About Page, you already know a bit about Machito and myself but I wanted to give all you readers a bit more about how we met and why we want to share Machito’s concoctions with you.

In late 2017, I was managing a coffee shop, but on the side I was working at a small hotel and had just switched from concierge to bartending one night a week (Wednesdays) with minimal training. Unbeknownst to me, Machito was the Tuesday bartender! All I knew was that the guy on Tuesdays needed to step down his game. He was making all these fancy drinks for the guests and then they would come back the next night hoping to have them again. No amount of google could save me.

So I did what any girl would do. I got his phone number from the employee list and started texting him and bugging him to stop showing off.

Now when I say I was a bad bartender, I’m not kidding. I’m great at the conversation part, but with the whole 1 night of training I was given, I couldn’t tell you how to make anything that wasn’t whiskey on the rocks or a vodka cranberry. Seriously. They tried to make it Wine Wednesdays to help me, but all I know about wine is I buy cabernet. I was (and am) completely useless.

But back to the story…

Machito became curious about this girl who had the nerve to text him to stop bartending so well, and he showed up at my coffee shop. The nerve!!

But after a couple visits he asked me out and we’ve been living our “happily ever after” ever since. Just throwing in our puppy and house and you’re all caught up.

Now I am still a barista (NOT a bartender) and he is still wowing people left and right with his creative drinks. I always joke that I don’t need to learn anymore so long as I have him, but his drinks are just too good to not share!

I can’t wait to learn alongside all of you.
